For Sale – Bow Top Gypsy Caravan
This is a traditional ‘door and windows’ bow top gypsy caravan with some really striking decorative paintwork.
It sits on a pretty set of unders with a pleasingly swept forward lock with carved fiddle ended sections and turned axle cases. It has iron tyred wooden wheels which have been recently restored and repainted.
There is a pan box at the rear, a working road brake, a good set of shafts, and a solid set of steps.
The whole of the undercarriage is finished in a rich cream basecoat with green, red and gold leaf detailing.
The body is painted in a deep Brunswick Green and is lavishly covered with carved fruit motifs and coachlining to the front, back and both flanks as well as all chamfers being picked out in red, green and gold leaf. At the back is a pretty sliding sash window and a pair of sliding louvred shutters as well as decorative cratch rack for Dobbin’s dinner!
The doorway is formed by a pair of glazed windows over a stable door.
Inside there are numerous drawers and cupboards including a pair of glazed china cabinets as well as a bow fronted 2 over 3 chest of drawers.
There is bench seating on both sides of the caravan and a pull out bed measuring 72” long x 42” wide and this comes complete with brand new mattress pads. The interior is largely woodgrain scumbled with red and gold chamfering.
This is probably one of the most attractive caravans we have had in a while and a real head turner.
