Reading Caravan
Our Reading Caravan (named after the town where they were
first made) is built from solid timber, with hardwood being
used for the axles, wheels and steps. There are fully opening
windows on all four sides, complete with working sliding shutters
to all but the front windows.
The front axle is steerable and with the help of the removable
draw bar, and a few strong bodies, the caravan can be moved
around the garden according to the season.
Inside, ingenious use has been made of the available space,
and each caravan comes fitted out with the following:-
- Single bed extending to double (complete with a 4"
mattress pad)
- Extending table
- Built in seating with storage lockers under
- Traditional fireplace and mantelpiece*
- Wardrobe with hanging rail
- Bookshelves
- Galleried shelving
- Huge storage area under bed (doubles as secret children's
den!)
- Side table with cupboards under
If you prefer your gypsy caravan unfitted, allowing you space
for your own furniture, we will be happy to do this for you

The caravan comes painted inside and out using quality finishes,
and as our caravans are usually built to order, you can choose
your own colour scheme and fabrics.

*Many people like to have the traditional fireplace, even
if they don't plan to have a stove installed, but if you would
prefer not to have the fireplace, we can replace it with additional
seating at no extra cost. Please note however, this also means
removal of the bookshelves, as they are built into the side
of the fireplace.
